  1. No smoking is right. Meanwhile the 10 do-nothing cops per every person don’t harass the loud motorcyclists ruining the concerts for everybody.

  2. Wow Samantha, you woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
Nobody makes you rent a chair, there are plenty of people, myself included who sit outside the seating area and have GREAT views. Some even sit on the boardwalk and enjoy the show.
These concerts have allowed me and my family to enjoy some quality time together (for FREE) for years, while exposing them to music from their parent’s past. I credit these concerts for helping to foster my children’s love of music of different genres. On a selfish note, both my wife and I have had an opportunity to see some bands that we could not see when we were younger.
As a smoker I too have come across the anti-smoking “police”, but I just take a little walk to the side and enjoy my cigarette away from others. It’s just courtesy, try it it’s contagious.
Enjoy the concerts, Pat Benatar was one of my favorites last time she was here, I can’t wait to see her again.

  3. You can’t beat this beautiful venue for a concert anywhere. First of all it’s outdoors in a wonderful park across from the beach and boardwalk. The crowd it attracts is not rowdy and very much enjoys the show with plenty of enthusiasm. Marty makes the party! I have been waiting for this all winter. For $5 or free this is defintely the place to be!

  4. These free summer shows are GREAT!!!!! I’ve been to nearly all of them since the series was iniated. And you are right next to the Boardwalk and the beach. A truly fantastic way to spend a Thursday evening. Marty Markowitz .. you rock. I don’t know a bigger advocate of Brooklyn.

  7. While this is good news if you like music, the whole event series under Marty “You’ll do as I say” Markowitz has become an oppresive and horrible. The “free” show requires that you “rent a chair” for $5, or in some cases even more. Are NYC taxpayers footing the bill for these shows and who gets the extra money? Probably the Russian Mob.
Besides who knows who paid to have 10 cops for every person (umm who is paying for all this overtime????) plus the endless harassment about smoking (go screw yourself non-smokers, you’re OUTSIDE breathing BUS FUMES) makes it a place NOT WORTH GOING TO.
Stick to the Free shows that are really free (River to River rocks!)
