  1. This is so sad!! I am always so amazed whenever I see a flock of geese in flight. They are the true examples of how a community should work together and support one another. Because geese have their eyes on the sides of their heads they have a blind spot directly in front and in back of them. By flying together in a v-formation they can fly safely (from predators) and for a much longer distance because they each are looking out for the other. They also take turns being in the front of the formation since that requires the most energy. Those flying behind honk to support those in front to keep up the pace. Geese who get sick or are shot and fall out of the formation are always accompanied by another who will stay with him until he is able to fly again or dies. We can learn alot from birds and see them for their beauty and not as a threat or nuisance.
