Founded in 2004, Only the Blog Knows Brooklyn brings hyper local news to brownstone Brooklyn. The Thomas Wolfe story “Only the Dead Know Brooklyn” was the inspiration for the blog’s name.
Every day thousands of readers turn to OTBKB for No Words Daily Pix (the daily picture by Hugh Crawford) and posts about Civics and Urban Life, Arts and Culture, Food and Drink, Local Shopping, Poetry by Verse Responder Leon Freilich, Music by Eliot Wagner, Movies by Pops Corn, Smartmom, Greetings from Scott Turner, photography from Tom Martinez and Efrain Gonzalez, the local weather in Park Slope (courtesy of the Feldman Family) and MORE.
OTBKB is mostly written and edited by Louise Crawford. Featured writers include: Eliot Wagner, Leon Freilich, Pops Corn, Richard Grayson. Featured photographers are: Hugh Crawford, Tom Martinez and Efrain Gonzalez.
Louise Crawford also runs the Brooklyn Blog Fest, an annual gathering of hundreds of Brooklyn bloggers that is held each May. She also runs Brooklyn Reading Works, a monthly reading series at the Old Stone House in Park Slope.
