  1. Follow-up on previous comment: Manu Chao concerts are, indeed, ticketed events. Tickets have gone on sale via Ticketron@$30 each, general admission, plus Ticketron’s famous $8.50 “convenience charge (Eliot Spitzer, where are you?), plus $4.75 per order “processing charge.” If it’s any consolation: a) you get one free Apple Store ITunes download per ticket purchased (a 99 cent value) and b) someone’s offering their tickets on Stubhub! for $180 each.

  2. Several of the most popular concerts will be ticketed events, meaning that the usual pay-at-the-gate policy will not apply. In all likelihood, Manu Chao’s return appearance will be ticketed. Last year, his concert was sold out weeks in advance. Tickets on Craigslist and from scalpers at the gate went for $200 or more and counterfeit tickets made their way into the marketplace. Don’t expect that the fact there will be two dates will alleviate the situation: this guy has a global audience and does a killer show.

  3. The Richard Thompson show will be a full band show, which he hasn’t had around these parts for a while. Although I can understand wanting to hear “One of Us,” Joan Osborne’s last album had some of the best stuff she’s done, so I’m waiting to hear “Pretty Little Stranger” and “Who Divided.”
