  1. Not true Sona! This Park Sloper is awaiting the arrival of Whole Foods with baited breath. I can wait until 2009 for this fantastic store to open. And Vita – perhaps you should go back to Boca Raton where you are living now. I am sorry that Brooklyn is not the crime infested slum it had become when you moved to Long Island in the 1950s. Stores like Ikea and Whole Foods make living in Brooklyn as convenient as the suburbs. But if you really can walk around Carol Gardens, Park Slope, Gowanus, Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg, etc, etc and not tell the difference b/t Brooklyn and Levitown, then you have poor eyesight indeed.

  2. Brooklyn doesn’t want Whole Foods this year, next year or any year after that. Lets just stop counting and appreciate the way nature is asserting itself in the Gowanus Wetlands.

  3. Too bad it will take so long.
My adult son (who grew up in PS and is indeed a PS parents group type since he has with help created a PS baby son type) and I visited Fairway on this beautiful kinda pre Fall sat afternoon. We brought along my 20 month old grandson who we both consider to be the ultimate Park Slopey Baby ( who can’t take care of himself ) and does come along with us on all adventures.. We jokingly said…. wait afew years and living in Brooklyn will be like living in the suburbs. Oh my gosh…. prophetic… the good, bad and the ugly!!!!
I can’t wait till IKEA opens and I can buy things that I will either need to throw out within a year of purchase( because the item fell apart) or want to throw out because of breech of initial esthetic purchase decisions.
