  1. The town of Ho-ho-kus, NJ used to (and may still) have a pre-holiday shopping week called Ho-Ho-Kus Days to encourage local shopping and to support the local hospital. The nonprofit connection seemed to bring out the shoppers, and a small percentage of sales did benefit the hospital.
Perhaps supporting local homeless shelters or other nonprofits would bring folks out.

  2. We went out… we only went to a couple places though. A bar & two shops. The bar didn’t have Coney Island lager as promised on the site, but the stores were open & very festive!
I think it’s a great idea, but I hope next year they’ll put together a map AND a list.

  3. A friend of mine and I traipsed out in the “weather” (what was suspected to be terrible was nonexistant) and everything seemed to be closed. A suggestion for next year: bigger signs and perhaps stores may have people stationed outside to lure folks in from off the street.
