I got this email from an OTBKB reader over the weekend:
I have a question. i wonder if you can help me with something. I live on Clinton Avenue behind a noisy club. My neighbors and I have had trouble with the noice coming from the club (crazy loud bass, music and drunk patrons) since they opened…
Councilwoman Tish James has been awesome, but it’s still a persistant problem. Calling 311 doesn’t help, sleeping with 2 fans doesn’t help (three people in my building do this–me, too!). The police suggested that the neighbors form an alliance.
My neighbors and i have created a google group where we can discuss the issue and try to work together to come up with a solution: http://groups.google.com/group/clinton-washington-neighbors-against-noise.
My neighbors and I have made flyers and will distribute them around the area, but any help would be so appreciated.
I’ve lived in the same clinton hill apt for 6 years and brooklyn for nearly 10! i LOVE this borough and am excited about many of the changes in my nabe.
wow XYZ you sure are a jerk. A club opened last year in my Houston neighborhood and dealing with patrons really sucks. They roll up at 1230, 0100, stereos blasting. Walking to and from the club they’re SHOUTING to each other, WTF, why can’t you just talk quietly?? Everybody around here is trying to sleep you stupid loudmouths. This is so frustrating. I have no problem with people going out for a good time. Just leave us alone!
I don’t think the clubs music is too
Too loud from my vantage point. The neighborhood is much quieter than
Back I’m the 90’s etc. I hope your not on a power trip take over the neighborhood like u own it type attitude. Everybody counts. You can’t come to NYC AND change the city to suit your selfish tastes. You need to
Learn how to share not alienate people in the neighborhood. Who the he’ll do you think you are? And don’t try to throw that white priveledge crap around. Adapt share make the quality of life better for everyone or get the he’ll out and go back to your inconsiderate life in your stone age town. Your all a bunch of hypocrytes in Clinton Hill. And stop concerning yourself with petty stuff like a lil music oncenin a while. Clinton Hill is for everybody; not just you fool!
