Good Sunday afternoon to you. Today’s big news is Climate Awareness Day at Congregation Beth Elohim with keynote speakers and activities for kids is on Sunday.

About the subway: there is no Brooklyn bound service on the 2,3,4 trains at Grand Army Plaza. and no R service between 95th Street in Brooklyn and Whitehall Street.  Riders on the 4th Avenue line are advised to use the N train instead.  And to top things off, there will be no D service between Pacific Street and 34th Street.

Yeesh.

Sunday, January 23, 7PM until midnight at Barbes: This program is part of Django a Go Go, an all day Django Reinhardt festival organized by Stephane Wrembel, Joe’s Pub and Barbes. Featuring Master Classes, jam session and performances by some of the best gypsy swing players from Europe and North America.

Climate Awareness Day at Beth Elohim

Sunday, January 23d from 1PM until 2PM at Congregation Beth Elohim: The Climate Awareness Day program is designed for adults and kids.  The keynote speaker is Liz Butler, Campaign Director of 1Sky, and the program will include a presentation by Donna Goodman of the EarthChild Institute, as well as breakout sessions on local climate issues.  There will be free childcare with eco-activities for the kids while their parents are attending the presentations.
