Music

Sat, Nov 20 at 8PM at the Old Stone House: As part of 5 Dutch Days, the annual celebration of the continous influence of Dutch art and culture in New York City, the Sylvan Winds will perform a program by the masters of Dutch music.

Sun, Nov 21 at 5PM at The Bell House: Several local record collectors have agreed to share the sounds contained within their favorite 78s at this event, which will be hosted by Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus (The Wang Dang Doodle, Subway Soul Club). The bar will be open.

Sun, Nov 21 at 7PM at Barbes: New Music Sundays, a New Music series curated by Richard Guérin and Giancarlo Vulcano for every third sunday of the month. Guitarist/composer David Ullmann has performed at The Blue Note, 55 Bar, The Knitting Factory and various clubs in and around New York City. Here he leads a sextet featuring Brian Drye-Trombone, Loren Stillman-Sax, Kirk Knuffke-Trumpet, Gary Wang-Bass and Vinnie Sperrazza-Drums playing all new music

Saturday Nov 20 at 8PM at Issue Project Room: Artist Richard Garet will fill ISSUE Project Room’s performance area with fog, and an overhead projector will display colored light and activate the atmospheric space by changing color dynamics over time. The projector will direct light to the floor, creating a cone of light. The visitors will find themselves inside of the work actively listening and viewing.
