I was on the 16th floor on the Upper West Side during the tornado–lots of windand lightening and sheets of rain and at one point everything looked grey and I could not see out the window. Then the rains stopped.
My first storm in Brooklyn. I was home at my apt off 7th ave. I was definitely scared. A cable line snapped and was flying around my window. The window, where the air conditioner is, leaked. And there are huge fallen tree limbs all over the block. Crazy weather.
I am so bummed, I missed the whole thing. I entered the subway at City Hall at 5:25, and it was about to start raining. When I exited at Union at at 5:45, it was all over. There were bits of debris everywhere, but it took us commuters a while to realize what we had missed.
