How Do You Feel About Term Limits?

If you’re against them, you might want to join our City Council guy Bill Di Blasio at City Hall.

The fight to stop Mayor Bloomberg from overturning the will of the
people has been gaining momentum. Make sure your voice is heard – the
voters established term limits, and should not be cut out of the
process. We need extensive public debate and discussion about this
issue before considering such fundamental changes to the government of
New York City.

JOIN BILL AT THE CITY COUNCIL HEARINGS ON TERM LIMITS TOMORROW AND FRIDAY.

Thursday, October 16 at 1:00 p.m.

AND
Friday, October 17 at 10:00 a.m.

  1. I love Marty M, admire and respect the mayor and many other termed out officials like Dom Recchia, who has been so good for BK culturals. I think deal should be 3 terms, not two. Mistake from beginning.
That being said, council should change the thing to three terms for the NEXT generation, not for themselves.
If council passes an extension for themselves,
it will be struck down in courts and litigated endlessly to get there
thereby interfering with 2009 election process, and,
if referendum is also done, 3 terms (which should be the norm as I said) will be defeated for sure

  2. Term limits have always bothered me, outside of the presidency. , Why? Because they compensate for an unengaged electorate. Better that people took their responsibility as voters seriously. An engaged electorate would know someone deserves to be elected–or tossed out.
