An OTBKB reader wrote in to see if anyone else had noticed an increase in air traffic noise in the neighborhood.
I live near Grand Army Plaza and have noticed much increased air traffic here the past few months……..low fliers sometimes a 3 min intervals right over my bldg……..wonder if anyone else has noticed have been calling complaint line from 311…………..have a great day.
I seems worse to me this fall. I’m on 8th ave. There is a plane every minute for like 18 hours a day. WTF? Anybody else hear this?

Yes I’ve felt the same. A lot of planes passing over our apartment.
airplanes pass from south to north all day long at regular intervals…nothing has changed in recent months…i can see them from my couch… they might just be more noticeable due to the cloud cover causing the noise to echo more…
There are a number of approaches to Laguardia. One of them is over Park Slope (I’ve been on a plane looking down at Prospect Park trying to pick out my block). They get rotate from time to time. So one possibility is that a recent rotation accounts for the increased noise. Of course there could be other reasons.
