i’d like to respond to the article in todays NY Times regarding stollers/children in bars. I am a mother. I raised a daughter in Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope. I know what it feels like to need public places to go that are child friendly. However, there should be places that are sacred and off limits to children. We all need a break from kids as much as we love them. We all need places to go that are for adults only. And as far as pubs in Dublin and London that are family centered. I hear alcoholism is rampant in these places. Hm, I wonder why. For a generation that is so involved in their children’s lives and wellbeing, I am amazed at the thought that bringing one’s children to a bar is OK. It’s not OK for anyone. Fine a cafe to schmooze and let’s think about others.
