Kim Maier sent me this email about another brainstorming session at the Old Stone Hosue.
Dear Neighbors,
Because of popular demand, we’ve added another session:
Tuesday, January 22: 7 pm – 9 pm
Play space, open space, green space – what do you imagine?!? Join us for a group discussion hosted by the Old Stone House and Brooklyn Parks to get your input on potential renovations to the 5th Avenue side of the park between 3rd and 4th streets.
Please RSVP and let us know if you are planning to attend — oldstonehouse@verizon.net or 718-768-3195. This is a wonderful opportunity for community input, and we look forward to hearing from you.
I lived across the street from “3rd Street Park” beginning in 1956 (birth) until the early 70’s. The park has gone through many “renovations” during that time.
The handball court walls were taken down along 5th Avenue, which was a good thing.
At the same time, the bocce courts were removed, which in my humble opinion, was a bad thing.
My suggestion for the “renovations” to the 5th Avenue side of “3rd Street Park” is bring back the bocce courts.
One more thing, thank you to all the people who have worked to restore the Old Stone House. It is finally being shown the respect it deserves.
Just,
Annole Broade
