THIS JUST IN (3:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon):
Gersh Kuntzman got right in the middle of the pigeon war on Eighth Avenue — and tells me to expect a “hot hot hot” column in this week’s Brooklyn Paper.
I am dying to know what’s going on. It will be online in a few hours.
okay, I am an idiot. I trusted the guy.
God, Johanna, tell us something we don’t already know about Gersh Kuntzman. He didn’t get his last name by accident, you know!

It is not on line yet, as they are doing some upgrades on the net. The headline is “Feather Fly Over Pigeon Crackdown” Subtitled, “Ruffling Pigeon Feathers; Opponents debate merits of proposed feeding ban.”
“hot hot hot” — translated into this. Gersh contacted me and asked if I would like to meet with him. I asked to meet with him on the condition that he did not run my photo. There are many hostile “pigeon haters” in the area and I’ve already been attacked. He assured me. He promised me. He said — Of course not.
In addition, I suggested I bring down the orphaned baby bird that was a result of last week’s carnage (which apparently many are starting to think of as humorous or trivial.) He encouraged me to bring the bird down with me, which I did. He took pictures of the bird and I told him it was fine as long as we just didn’t take pho tos of my neck up.
As everyone can clearly see, the promise he made was worthless. He has no ethics or morals and has to be one of the best examples of bad media we have going.
In addition, he misquoted me, I never said, “move out of the country” to the man in the story. That never happened.
