How’s it going over there with those new fangled debit machines?

it was surreal as usual having had a 4 month break from coop…it was a strange upscale yuppie/hippie hybrid 3rd world like shopping experience….
fighting my way through the aisles of blissful shoppers…grievances at checkout by upset mothers being late for bedtimes..
the line was forever as new debit machines were used….no one at cashier…
You shouldn’t be going upstairs with coupons, but do have to go to the cashier as your payment is no longer “debit only”.
all the check out workers were learning for the most part.
some glitches – it doesn’t register if an item doesn’t scan like before, so you have to be more vigilant in that regard.
everything a bit TOO automated if you ask me.
going upstairs with visitors and coupons seems a bit of a pain (and parking validation).
there were basically no lines at cashier. go figure.
Lines to check out were back to produce for more than an hour Tues evening; yet another aborted shop in favor of Fairway.
