RICHARD THOMPSON CELEBRATES BROOKLYN

I’m so sad I missed Richard Thompson last night at Celebrate Brooklyn that I’m gonna listen to his and Linda Thompson’s album, "I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight" all morning. Over and over

Who was there? How was it? What about the big rain?

  1. Wow, of course it continued! It was an absolutely amazing experience, watching Thompson defeat the elements and play an extraordinary concert with rain and lightning in the background.
There is an audio recording of the concert on my site.

  2. The concert was stopped only temporarily — he went on to play the entire concert — it lasted til nearly 11 p.m. and was fabulous. He even sang a song with his son Teddy. Lots of people stayed.

  3. Unfortunately they called the Richard Thompson concert after 2 songs when there was a deluge and some pretty dramatic lightning. A drenched crowd left in what I feel was a very civilized manner as befits us old folkies. I was really bummed as I was anticipating this concert since you leaked the news. Maybe he could be rebooked for next year if he’s on this coast.
