MORE DELICES DE PARIS GOSSIP

So what is the deal with Delices de Paris, the bakery on Ninth Street between 6th and 5th Avenues?

Here’s OTBKB’s take on it:

Zana’s Cafe opened on Seventh Avenue in the space next to Smiley Face Pizza. It is owned by Rosana, co-owner of Delices De Paris on Ninth Street.

Signs went up in the window at Delices De Paris saying that the two places were not connected. "Do not be fooled…"

Rumors spread about a nasty break-up between Zana and her husband, the baker at Delices de Paris. They still owned the place together but…

Then I heard that the Health Department shut the original place down.

I heard a rumor that the couple was back together — I thought that sounded odd.

I heard another rumor that Rosana bought out her husband and the place is set to re-open soon.

Anyone know what’s going on over there? Here’s a tip from an OTBKB reader:

there here have been many signs on that window since. Also some
apparent signs of improvement within since Rosa took over. I’m just sad
they’re closed for now, doing some of the needed improvements many of us
have noticed. Now I have to walk all the way up to 7th to get my morning
latte and almond croissant. Just as good as always… but no place to
sit down. Maybe they should put stools in.

  1. This place has serious hygiene issues. I bought an apple tart and found mold growing inside it. My friend bought a turkey and cheese croissant and found mold growing in the back. It’s surpising that the health department allowed them to reopen. And yes, the staff is incredibly slow and inefficient.

  2. This place sucks. The staff is so slow I think they may be mentally challenged. The coffee isn’t very good, the pastries are not fresh and the atmosphere is just uncomfortable. I am surprised that mice would even bother to shit here.

  3. wow i cant believe so many people like that place. its pretty awful and boring. nothing stands out, and the workers are so slow.
Colson’s is the clear winner for good food and coffee.

By and large, rumors tend to prove to be untrue. And often involve a victim (if there is indeed a marital issue between these people, what business is it of ours? and to whom does it matter? and aren’t they likely to be having enough pain without the knowledge that strangers know their business?).
The quality of your blogging is diminished when you report hearsay.
Delices de Paris has been an asset to the community. Let’s hope they get on their feet again.
