  1. Nice selection of links to the Brooklyn Paper. One thought — Re: The Comptroller selection: why are our current reformers (Spitzer, Bloomberg, Klein) so into the high-test(osterone) bully style of politics? What is with all of the Governor’s publicly violent and vindictive speech (just like Rudy G)? Makes you wish for the days when there was more of a “Back Room” for all of this hypermasculine posing. Is the Bully-style a function of those who inherit (Spitzer), make (Bloomy, Rudy now) or travel in the realm of (Klein, Rudy then) Big Bucks and Power? Is it trying to emulate the Teddy Roosevelt “Carry a Big Stick” style of politics? A Dem reaction/fallout from the Bush/GOP/Rove take-no-prisoners-political playbook? Sure, sometimes tough decisions are required, but shouldn’t politics also be about cooperation, horse trading, mediation and compromise? I voted for and support Gov Spitzer but I don’t fault any NYS legislator who voted for Tom DiNapoli..the Governor needs to learn to share and play fair before he runs with scissors..
