BAR MINNOW OUT BROOKLYN BURGER BAR IN

Brooklyn Papers has the story. Bar Minnow out and Brooklyn Burger Bar in. Bar Minnow owner, Aaron Bashey, closed Bar Minnow when he moved to Los Angeles. Greg Murjani, who owns Greg’s Express Rubbish Removal, is the new owner.

Bar Minnow, best known for its fish-and-burgers menu, has been rechristened the Brooklyn Burger Bar — at least if you can believe awnings.

New, bright yellow “Brooklyn Burger Bar” awnings popped up this weekend over the shuttered space, at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Ninth Street in Park Slope. Bar Minnow had been closed since owner-chef Aaron Bashey moved to Beverly Hills to run The Prime Grille.

New owner Greg Murjani told us that he doesn’t eat fish, but he loves a good burger — and, in true Brooklyn spirit, he’s promising a mega-mound of meat called “the Fuggedaboutit.”

Beyond that Angus prime classic, Murjani’s Burger Bar will sell Kobe beef burgers plus the usual French fries and onion rings. There will be a full bar and a killer milkshake, he told us.

Murjani, who also owns Greg’s Express garbage service, is a born and bred Brooklynite and grew up in Park Slope, wants his place to be family friendly but also a late-night stop.

He will serve food from 11am to 2 am, and will keep the bar opened until 4 am.

  1. It’s true, I am another tenant of Greg and he has yet to pay me the deposit. Great way to do business greg.

  2. Well Iam a tenant of GREG MURJANI , and i have no problems what so ever. hes a great landlord every time i have a problem with my apartment he’s there the next morning with some one to fix it. hes a awesome person in general he’s very helpful, always helping people when there in need he is great,To all of you people trying to put his name down in the ground it would never work because people like you only make him stronger and more powerful. so get a life, instead of writing his name all over these websites find something else to do with your time. People like you all are losers.Continue to layback on your comp and write what you want about him because he is still going to be rich and famous, and drive past YOU ALL in a BENTLEY.
    GET A LIFE PEOPLE…..AND LEAVE HIM ALONE…

  4. Seriously, I want to know: How do people like this become successful?
I lived in one of Greg’s buildings as well, on Prospect Ave. in South Park Slope. I affectionately refer to him as the first “slum lord” I ever encountered as a young New Yorker. There is literally nothing this man will not cut corners on. He did a bunch of the work in our apartment himself, and as a result there was not a single level surface in the place (we used to play a game where we walked around with a level looking for one). He refinished the laundry room himself, and as a result the door leading to the stairwell didn’t actually open (no matter; he punched a hole in the stairwell ceiling to accommodate it). For MONTHS, we had a large panel (large enough for a person to slip through) missing above the front door of our building, letting in cold air and who knows what else; it was only until subsequent owners took over the building that the hole got patched up. But my very favorite incident was when I left our apartment one morning to find some dude sleeping on the landing outside my door. When we called Greg to tell him someone had broken into the building, he assured us that we needn’t worry; this was a friend of his who was going to do some work later on in the day inside the building. Ok then! Vagrants can sleep outside my door any day.
Knowing how Greg does things, I would NOT eat in this place. He probably doesn’t even use real meat.

  5. That is hysterical! I can’t beleieve Greg would do that! How cheesy. Seriously, if you’re going to pretend to be someone else and say “this guy Greg Mortani”–GOING SO FAR AS TO SPELL YOUR OWN NAME WRONG–don’t put your contact info in. So funny. Louise, you’ve got yourself a controversy!

  6. Yeah right, Murjani. Everybody knows “great landlord” is you. Just give him his deposit back.

  7. This guy cameron in last article was a tenant of mine in sunset park he left the apartment filthy and walls painted in an orangy color.I hope this guy greg mortani never gives you back your deposit.
I think this guy cameron is a professional squatter.
I think this is what he does for a living.

  8. I was a tenant of Greg Murjani at one of his buildings on 10th Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn from June 2005 to January 2007. Despite the fact that I paid my rent in full every month for the duration that I resided in the apartment and left it in its original condition, wealthy Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce member Greg Murjani is attempting to keep the $1,950.00 security deposit I paid for the apartment. Over repeated phone calls for the past three months he has dishonestly asserted that the deposit check is in the mail but it has not been returned. I am posting here in hopes that public shaming will rouse Mr. Murjani to do the right thing.
