Maybe instead of a Complaints Box, Smartmom should walk around with a Suggestions Box. If you’ve got something constructive to say, just write it down on a small piece of paper and put it in.
Yesterday’s postcard, "Complaints Box" was a pithy exercise in self-flaggelation. Thank gawd for those kind readers who could dredge up something kind to say.
The most WONDERFUL thing that happened was this. I told Teen Spirit about the comment left by an M. Fairfield:
If I was your son I don’t think I’d feel much like confiding in you
either. The thought that any "newsworthy" quirk is fodder for
tomorrow’s blog is a great reason to keep you out of the loop.
And you know what Teen Spirit said. He said, "Tell him to go fuck himself." And I will just leave it at that.
Thanks Teen Spirit. You are the best!

HUGE STOOP SALE THIS SUNDAY AT GARFIELD PLACE AND EIGHTH AVENUE!!
Hey guys. I’m a native Park Sloper who just graduated from college last week. This Sunday, I am selling a TON of stuff in what will pretty much undoubtedly be the GREATEST STOOP SALE of the year so far. My friends and sister are going to be coming by with their stuff too, so it is really going to be massive. I know what makes a good and a bad stoop sale, and this one is going to awesome. The ratio of crap to amazing stuff is about 1 to 10, and we are going to take up half a block with:
BOOKS (Cheap!)
CLOTHES FOR GUYS AND GIRLS (T-Shirts, Sneakers, Hats, Buttons, Snap Bracelets)
MISCELLANY (Toys, Videos, Computer Stuff, Sports Equipment, ETC!!!)
MUSIC (CDs and Vinyl)
Everything is going cheap because if it doesn’t get sold then it’s getting thrown out, so come and buy stuff.
When: SUNDAY – 11:00 AM TO 5:00 PM
Where: 162 8TH AVENUE. CORNER OF GARFIELD PLACE. ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE SYNAGOGUE.
Not really a suggestion; just wanted to give props for your courageous coverage of the Atlantic Yards – P.S. 321 PTA connections in the Brooklyn Papers.
It’s always important to “follow the money”, and if a few people are discomforted in the process, so much the better.
