Fort Greene Swimmer Lia Neal Wins a Bronze Medal at London Olympics

Brooklyn has a winner! And she lives in Fort Greene.

17-year-old swimmer Lia Neal (pictured left) won the Olympic bronze medal after her freestyle relay team took third place in the women’s 4×100-meter race.

She is only the second U.S. female swimmer of African-American descent to win a medal.
