I think that this town, Mount Laurel, N.J, has more evil things going on than the poorly conceived and egregiously executed "euthanasia" of 133 Canadian Geese. The beating deaths of 18 geese following the town council's massacre unveils a more disgusting and insidious undercurrent. It would behoove the town to find the sick minds who perpetrated this heinous crime, knowing full well that the council members share in the guilt and shame. Why? Please read on and do some research on the topic.

"Many studies in psychology, sociology, and criminology during the last 25 years have demonstrated that violent offenders frequently have childhood and adolescent histories of serious and repeated animal cruelty. The FBI has recognized the connection since the 1970s, when its analysis of the lives of serial killers suggested that most had killed or tortured animals as children. Other research has shown consistent patterns of animal cruelty among perpetrators of more common forms of violence, including child abuse, spouse abuse, and elder abuse. In fact, the American Psychiatric Association considers animal cruelty one of the diagnostic criteria of conduct disorder."

I hear that if you feed a goose an Alka Seltzer tablet that it will explode. Is this true?

As of yesterday (7.23) a few geese were sighted at the lake's rim contemplating the scene of the recent carnage and assessing the possibility of a comeback. White bread was being distributed to them by young volunteers. Living, as I do, in the flightpath of their daily commutes, I would wholeheartedly welcome their honking return. In this spirit I suggested to them that they don the white disguise of common barnyard geese and lay low until the Feds were better occupied elsewhere.
